5-Day Daily Devotional
Building on the Right Foundation
(Week of June 7, 2026)
(Week of June 7, 2026)
Weekly Overview:
Building on the Right Foundation is a 5-day devotional journey that calls believers to examine the spiritual structures they are building and the materials they are using to build them. Rooted in 1 Corinthians 3, this study reminds us that Jesus Christ is the only foundation that can withstand the tests of life and eternity.
In a world that often measures success by status, accomplishments, and possessions, God invites us to build differently. He is not impressed by outward appearances or busy activity; He is concerned with the quality of our faith, the condition of our hearts, and the eternal value of our work.
Throughout this devotional, we will explore what it means to build on Christ alone, invest in things of eternal significance, honor the temple of the Holy Spirit, pursue God's wisdom above worldly understanding, and live confidently in the abundance that is already ours in Christ.
This journey is both an invitation and a challenge. It invites us to lay aside unstable foundations and build our lives on the unshakable Rock. It challenges us to examine whether our pursuits, priorities, and relationships are producing lasting fruit that will endure the testing fire of God's judgment.
As we build on the right foundation, we discover that a life established in Christ is secure, purposeful, and filled with eternal significance.

Day 1: The Foundation of Faith
Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:9-11
Devotional:
Paul reminds us that Jesus Christ is the only foundation worth building upon. In a world that offers countless alternatives—success, popularity, wealth, or human wisdom—we must anchor our lives in Christ alone. Consider what foundation you're building on today. Are you constructing your life on temporary materials that will fade, or on the eternal Rock? The ministries, relationships, and pursuits built on Christ will withstand every storm. Those built on human effort alone will crumble. Today, examine your foundation. Recommit to building everything in your life—your family, work, and ministry—on Jesus Christ, the cornerstone that never fails.
Day 2: Quality Over Quantity
Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:12-15
Devotional:
God is more concerned with the quality of our work than the quantity of our achievements. Gold, silver, and precious stones represent the lasting value of lives transformed by God's Word. Wood, hay, and stubble symbolize superficial activity that lacks eternal significance. The fire of God's judgment will test what we've built. Are you investing in what matters eternally? Spend time today mining the treasures of Scripture rather than settling for shallow spirituality. Dig deep into God's Word, allowing it to transform you from the inside out. Remember, lazy stewardship will be revealed. Choose to build with materials that will survive the fire and bring glory to God.
Day 3: You Are God's Temple
Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Devotional:
The Spirit of God dwells within you—you are His holy temple. This truth should revolutionize how you view yourself and treat your body, mind, and spirit. God takes seriously any defilement of His temple. What are you allowing into your temple? What thoughts, habits, or relationships are you tolerating that dishonor God's dwelling place? The church isn't just a building; it's the collective body of believers, each one a sacred space where God resides. When we bring unresolved issues, bitterness, or worldliness into the fellowship, we defile God's temple. Today, consecrate yourself afresh. Purify your temple through confession, repentance, and renewed commitment to holiness.
Day 4: God's Wisdom, Not Man's
Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:18-20; Proverbs 3:13-15
Devotional:
The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. Our culture celebrates self-promotion, material success, and human achievement, but God's kingdom operates on different principles: humility, sacrifice, service, and love. Wisdom is more valuable than silver or gold—it's the treasure we must seek daily. Stop comparing yourself to others or measuring success by worldly standards. Instead, pursue the knowledge of God with your whole heart. The early church had no buildings, no political influence, no celebrities, yet they turned the world upside down through God's wisdom and power. Today, ask God for wisdom in every decision. Trust His ways over your own understanding.
Day 5: All Things Are Yours in Christ
Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:21-23
Devotional:
Stop competing and comparing. In Christ, you possess all things—past, present, and future. You belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God. This truth liberates us from jealousy, rivalry, and insecurity. Your brother's blessing doesn't diminish yours. Your sister's success doesn't threaten your destiny. We are all building the same kingdom with different gifts and assignments. Focus on your calling without envying another's. The earth is the Lord's and everything in it. Who shall ascend His holy hill? Those with clean hands and pure hearts who seek Him continually. Today, celebrate what God is doing in others while faithfully stewarding what He's entrusted to you. Walk in the freedom and abundance that Christ has already provided.
